  H abit building (and breaking) is one of the hardest things we can do, but it's also one of the most important for our long-term success and happiness. What I find to be a good rule, however, is the 30-day trial period: If you can sustain an activity for the duration of an entire month, no matter how unpleasant or uncomfortable it is at first, it will develop into a habit. Here are five simple daily habits that have the power to change your life for the better.     1. Wake up early. Make it a habit (just like your morning routine) to wake up early -- preferably no later than 6:00 a.m. each day. Try to get up at the same time, more or less, each day. Disrupting our sleep cycle by changing our wake up time is actually not conducive to productivity.
